Life is wild and messy. When challenges arise we can often feel alone, stuck or disoriented. In counseling, I support clients in finding connection through the challenge to increase wellbeing and to discover new possibilities.

I received my Masters Degree in Somatic Therapy, a form of therapy that gets to the root of what brings clients in by addressing your embodied experience. Neuroscience is showing the efficacy of Somatic Therapy in creating lasting transformation.

I also incorporate Relational Therapy to support you in finding fulfilling ways of being in relationships, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which supports the body's natural ability to move from trauma to a resourced and integrated state.

With adequate support, stuck patterns shift and clients remember their innate wellbeing.

Sessions include being with the pains and joys of life, befriending your nervous system to shift states of dysregulation (stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, etc), connecting to your purpose and joy, acknowledging grief, and discovering how to be in more satisfying relationships - to yourself and the important people/communities in your life.

The more we feel the need to change, the more we can become painfully critical of ourselves and the people around us, which often makes it harder to evolve. I’ll help you experience your life and relationships with greater compassion and curiosity, softening your growing edges with kindness, so things can more easily start to shift.

To lean into the more painful parts of your life story takes bravery, honesty and a sense of adventure, and I'll provide warmth, acceptance and guidance as we navigate the journey ahead. I work with a wide range of therapeutic approaches, utilizing exercises and techniques you can use outside of our sessions, emphasizing attainable goals and encouraging long-term integration.

You’ll find me to be creative and collaborative, zooming out the lens to include your whole way of being, allowing for greater awareness of your unique strengths so you can best meet any restrictions that currently feel in the way.

Zachary Gart, MA LPCC

Relationships are the source of our greatest joys and some of our deepest pains. We need connection and fulfilling relationships with others and at the same time struggle with the wounds that have stacked up in childhood and overtime. The result of this bind can show up as prolonged challenges in relationships, recurring conflicts and patterns, depression, anxiety, and a deep sense of aloneness. My approach integrates relational skills across different modalities and styles of therapy to best fit your relationship and your goals in connection. My style is trauma-oriented, direct, compassionate and mindful.

I help people in relationships:

  • Discover and implement tools to effectively communicate and navigate conflict

  • Experience more trust and emotional intimacy

  • Communicate honestly and effectively

  • Use inevitable conflicts in relationships as opportunities to get needs met and grow closer

  • Reach their individual and relationship goals to move themselves forward in life

  • Heal their deeper relational challenges to lay a new foundation for safety in connection

  • Reconnect to sexuality and intimacy as nourishing, fun and pleasurable

  • Discover a pathway of relationship that feels fun and playful again

  • Enjoy their relationship as an integral part of growth
